The 2017 World Pool Champion Carlo Biado faced defeat against the Spanish Open champion Dang Jin Hu, who delivered an exceptional golden break to secure a 9-5 win to knock out the accomplished Pinoy.

From one champion to another, the two-time World Pool Champion Thorsten Hohmann also exited the tournament in a similar fashion, following back-to-back losses against Kledio Kaçi and James Georgiadis.

On the other hand, Shane Van Boening demonstrated a masterclass against the Saudi Arabian cueist Fahad Alharbi. Despite Alharbi securing a rack to level the score at 1-1, Van Boening went on an 8-rack charge to finish the game. Joining the "South Dakota Kid," UK Open champion Robbie Capito advanced to the winners' qualification after delivering a formidable performance against the young star Karl Gnadeberg. Capito breezed through the racks, finishing with a 6-9 carom shot to win the final rack and finish 9-3.

The second day also saw the two-time champion Albin Ouschan and 2019 champion Fedor Gorst struggle in the opening rounds. Ouschan lost the opening round against Fu Che Wei after failing a 3-9 combo at hill-hill, but bounced back in the following round with a 9-2 victory against Khalid Al Otabibi.

As for Gorst, nerves seemed to get the better of him after losing 3-9 to Mustafa Alnar in the first round. Gorst then entered a tense rack exchange with Luong Duc Thien in the losers' qualification. They reached 7-8, and although Luong attempted to bring it to hill-hill, he failed to declare a push-out, causing a foul and allowing Gorst to complete a 2-9 combo to win the rack.

Action resumes tomorrow with Jayson Shaw facing Johann Chua to kick off the third day at 1 pm KSA / 11 am BST UK time, available on Sky Sports, SSC, Shahid VIP Sports, MENA, and DAZN.
